Sigep 2024, the international pastry exhibition, closed its doors with a positive result: visitors from over 160 countries, 1200 exhibiting brands from 35 nations, over 500 buyers from 84 nations for 5,200 business meetings, three international competitions with as many as 25 countries participants: Gelato World Cup, Junior Pastry World Cup and European Gelato Challenge. Furthermore, 3,250 students from 70 international hotel schools and professional institutes and hundreds of events, demonstrations, tastings and meetings dedicated to sweet foodservice. Among the protagonists of this edition, Congusto Institute, the professional cooking school in Milan, and Italian Gourmet , the leading publishing house in the food sector with its fine pastry books.

Italian Gourmet, however, debuted at Sigep 2024 with an absolute novelty: Italian Gourmet Caffè 1895 by Lavazza, an exclusive lounge, the scene of a rich program of talks with great authors and prestigious guests, accompanied by live demos and tastings of the best blends 1895 Coffee Designers by Lavazza, to investigate the evolution of the pastry sector.
Among the guests of Italian Gourmet Caffè 1895 by Lavazza, Marco Pedron, the director of the pastry area of the Congusto Institute, could not be missing. Pedron participated in two meetings, one on the success of contemporary breakfast and the other on the future of pastry making, accessible luxury in an increasingly polarized food world. In both events, Pedron shared his vision, his experience and his advice, showing how to enhance manual skills, reduce waste, innovate with creativity and sustainability.
